Our story: from a custom approach to the DPS system
Servitly was born out of our own frustration as founders. When we started working on IoT projects, the same ones Servitly manages today, we handled them with a custom approach, building a new application for each customer.
We soon realized that our customers’ needs were almost always the same: collecting and analyzing data from connected products, turning it into useful insights, and sharing it with all the stakeholders involved in the product life cycle.
At that point, the custom approach no longer made sense. We seized the opportunity to develop a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform: a common foundation, with room for effective customization, that showcases our customers’ know-how and brand.
It was only later that we realized we were actually building a new category of software, which we went on to call a Digital Product-Service (DPS) system.
This idea was reinforced in 2016, when Tim Baines brought the concept of servitization to Italy. From then on, we saw the DPS as the software for Digital Servitization.
The team
Servitly is made of people, ideas, experiences and skills that support you on your Digital Servitization journey.

Our manifesto
We see the equipment manufacturing industry rethinking its business models to make them more competitive and sustainable.
Two ingredients are essential to this change: enriching the product offering with a strong expansion into value-added after-sales services, and the pervasive adoption of connectivity technologies in products.
We are aware that we are forging a new path, and that this makes it all the more necessary to have a tool capable of supporting such a deep process of innovation.
This tool is a new category of software that we want to pioneer: Digital Product-Service (DPS) systems. As we build it, we are committed to focusing on user experience, attention to detail, and scalability and reliability.
We combine our vision of the future, our ongoing dialogue with servitization forward-thinkers, and the experience we have gained, to support our customers along their path of evolution.
We want to amplify the long-term success of companies that see Digital Servitization as an opportunity to create new value.
We foster a work environment that encourages learning through curiosity, practice, and the freedom to make mistakes.
We are always ready to welcome, and then test, the ideas shared by colleagues, customers, and partners.
We love what we do: from designing and building new features to shaping our communication strategy and taking care of our customers.
We believe that choosing an open, dynamic, and flexible organizational model is the secret ingredient that allows us to do our best work every day.
We have chosen to embrace the agile philosophy to respond effectively to the challenges we face every day.
The values and principles behind its methods help us make the most of everyone's initiative, focusing on a sense of responsibility and a spirit of collaboration.
We believe in the power of sharing knowledge.
We like to tell the story of the future we envision, one in which Digital Servitization brings benefits to everyone and helps spread a new culture based on measurable results, transparency, and shared responsibility for results.
Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
